Engineer in Training (EIT)

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering as well as an Engineer in Training certificate (or the ability to obtain), some experience in the construction or mechanical trades, especially with taking measurements, performing detailed critical work, and troubleshooting.

Working under the direction of a Professional Engineer, the duties for this position include:

  • Develop ability to identify probable windstorm and hail damage to various roofing and other building envelope components.

  • Prepare accurate and thorough design and wind load calculations for structures of various geometries.

  • Perform forensic analysis of existing structures.

  • Comprehend and perform various testing standards and investigation techniques.

  • Prepare damage assessment and weather causation reports.

Additional Duties include:
•Assisting Engineers and Field and Laboratory Managers in conducting investigations and testing
•Collecting photographic evidence of damage
•Operating instruments to collect moisture/temperature/deflection data
•Ethically establishing and maintaining evidence chain of custody records

Travel is required for some projects with expenses and lodging provided.
Locations include Texas (Lubbock, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston), Louisiana (Alexandria, Lake Charles, Lafayette, New Orleans), and Florida, as well as occasional other regional and national job sites.
Partial remote work possible after training.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office is a plus.
Successful applicants will be hired on a 90-day probationary status. Full time, permanent positions may be available following the completion of the probationary time period.
Must have dependable transportation, clean driving record, cell phone, and laptop
